Hello dear readers! Like so many of you, I have opted to move my blog over to real Word Press instead of the pseudo Word Press that Sims3Legacy.com offers. I have no ill will towards Sims3Legacy.com what-so-ever. But, I think an actual Word Press blog is going to serve me better.

Chapter 25 – Jade Surprises Everyone

Jade was particularly disappointed. Her attempts to get the gold digging jerk out of her house had failed. Out of anger and frustration, Jade fired the little hot-to-trot maid that had failed to pique Maxwell’s interest. The next day, the maid service sent someone new: Demarco Lancaster. He certainly didn’t look like a maid. He had long black rock star hair, tan skin, and a fit physique. Although the previous maid had failed to produce romantic feelings in Maxwell, the new maid was giving Jade goose bumps.

Each day, Jade would ask Demarco to hang out after he was finished cleaning the Rose mansion. And each day, they got a little closer. Jade started to forget all about her plans for ousting Maxwell. Demarco was now her only concern. She even skipped work one day just to spend more time with him. Then it finally happened – she confessed her feelings for him, and took their budding friendship to the next level.

Maxwell didn’t seem concerned or surprised by the whole whirlwind romance. He knew Jade was insane, and tended to behave in a rash and bizarre manner at times. That, and he had finally gotten a fire lit under his own ass, and was rising through the ranks at the restaurant where he worked. He wasn’t even home that much anymore. Aili seemed more concerned, namely that this relative stranger was spending so much time in the house, a house where she and Maxwell were raising their young daughter.

But Jade soon made an announcement that surprised even Maxwell. She and Demarco were going to be getting married! She excitedly shared the news with Aili and Maxwell, telling them of how she decided to propose one night after a date with Demarco. And they didn’t want a long engagement either. It seemed that the pair had already made plans for a quick wedding at the local court house for later in the week.

Yes, long forgotten were Jade’s plans for getting ride of her sister’s husband. Jade seemed concerned with nothing except becoming Demarco’s wife. Her job, her skills, and her dastardly plans had all fallen by the wayside – and no one was more surprised than she.

Chapter 24 – The Gold Digger Needs to Go

Even though Aili had married gold digger Maxwell Falcon, Jade wasn’t about to give up her efforts to get rid of him. Aili’s twin had quite a long list of unsavory characters as friends, and given her predisposition for rather insane behavior, it seemed quite likely that Jade could and would find a way to get rid of Maxwell if she tried.

But, Jade’s plans were put on hold by back-to-back tragedies. Not long after Aili and Maxwell’s wedding, both Brie Rose and Elena Rose passed away from old age. The family was a wreck, especially Aili.

Although Jade took time to mourn, it wasn’t long before an opportunity presented itself. In order to keep up with the large house (and without three retired elders to help maintain it), the Rose family reinvested in regular maid service. Jade was delighted to learn one of their regular maids was cute and flirty.

Jade slipped the maid some extra money, and told her to throw herself at Maxwell whenever the opportunity presented itself. With Aili working the evening shift at the theater, there seemed to be plenty of opportunities.

But much to Jade’s dismay, Maxwell never took the bait. She started to think she’d be stuck living with the gold digger after all.

Meanwhile, Maxwell and Aili’s daughter was getting ready to go into elementary school, which prompted Aili to give her daughter’s room a much deserved make over. Inara got a new bed, new toys, new dresser, and a brand new school wardrobe. Aside from Jade’s sulking around the house, everything seemed to be going well for the Rose family.

Intermittent Updates – Sorry!

Editorial Note: I apologize for the infrequency of my updates lately. I haven’t had as much time to play the game as I would like, and I’ve had even less time to do an entry here. I have been attending events for my paying blogging gig, and well… the paying one takes priority.

I promise to have something up over the next few days. I’d do one now, but the Sims 3 website is giving people log in problems, myself included.

Chapter 23 – The Fifth Generation is Born

Aili was whisked away to the hospital, and gave birth to a little girl. She named her Inara (after a character in her favorite television show). Maxwell was mysteriously absent. But fortunately for Aili, she had solid support structure at home. When it was time to take the baby back to the Rose mansion, Aili was stunned to find that her family had added finishing touches to the baby’s nursery.

Everyone in the household took turns taking care of the baby, especially since Maxwell didn’t seem interested. Aili’s Aunt Elena even retired in order to spend more time with her great niece. Because of Elena and Brie’s help, Aili was soon able to return to work.

It wasn’t long before Inara was crawling her way around the Rose mansion. Maxwell, who hadn’t seen his daughter since she was born, had at least started communicating with Aili again. Elena and Brie wanted Aili to kick him to the curb, but knew it probably wasn’t going to happen. Then Maxwell surprised the entire household – he called and asked to see Inara. Skeptical, but hopeful, Aili told him to come over.

Maxwell seemed genuinely sorry for having missed so much of her young life. He scooped Inara up into his arms and snuggled with her for a moment. Aili couldn’t have been happier at seeing them together. In fact, she decided she was going to do whatever it took to make Maxwell stay forever. Two days later, after getting Maxwell to agree to spend the night, Aili proposed.

Jade, Elena, and Brie were flabbergasted when the pair made the announcement that they were getting married. They wanted Inara to have an active father, but they thought Aili was being rash and emotional about the whole thing. Despite their objections, Maxwell and Aili were soon married, and he moved in. Jade, who wasn’t exactly the town’s most upstanding character, suspected that Maxwell was just a gold digger and would prove to be nothing but trouble for her sister. And despite her efforts to make him leave, he did stick around… at least for a while.

Editorial Note: Sorry for so many entries today! I got so far ahead in game play vs updates that I really wanted to try and get caught up. You can expect no more updates for the rest of today and tomorrow at least!

Chapter 22 – Consequences

Although sad about the loss of her father, Aili suddenly found herself with even larger concerns. Her dalliances with Maxwell had had some rather unintended consequences. After finding herself visiting the bathroom every morning, Aili finally had her suspicions confirmed: she was pregnant.

What should have been otherwise happy news, made Aili nervous. She knew that Maxwell disliked children. What would he think? After a few days, she finally worked up the courage to tell him.

He wasn’t thrilled. However, he wasn’t angry either. Aili asked him to stick around, so they could tell her Aunt Elena and her mother, Brie, together. The elder ladies of the house, although worried for Aili, tried to muster excitement and encouragement for the couple. It must have had some impact, because even Maxwell was acting a little excited by the time he left that evening.

Over the next few months, Maxwell spent a lot of time at the Rose household. Although he technically hadn’t moved in, he might as well had. None of Aili’s family members really liked Maxwell. They felt like he was a mooch – always trying to find ways to get a free meal or even money. Although he was working at the local diner, he didn’t seem to be working all that hard to set aside money for the baby.

It wasn’t long before the full nine months had gone by, and Aili looked like she was ready to give birth at any moment. One night, as her twin sister Jade was coming in from a night out, she saw Aili standing in the hallway breathing heavily. Her water had just broken, and the baby was definitely on its way!

Chapter 21 – The Twins Reach Adulthood, But Not Without Tragedy

Whether it caused a sigh of relief, or more gray hairs for their parents, Aili and Jade greeted adulthood happily. Jade still spent most of her time in her room on her computer, or going out at night. Her parents weren’t exactly sure what she was doing for a living, but she did pay for her own existence in the house and seemed perfectly fine (aside from the occasional moment of what appeared to be her conversing with herself).

Meanwhile, Jade’s twin sister, Aili, was diving headfirst into the family music business. She had shown musical promise from a very young age, so it was no surprise to Michael or Brie that Aili turned out to be a natural guitar player.

But as talented and eager to become a musician as Aili was, she was still spending a lot of free time doing the dating thing, namely with a young man named Maxwell Falcon. He was often over at the house, sometimes even spending the night.

Brie seemed a bit displeased, and she was confused as to why Michael didn’t seem to mind. What no one seemed to realize (what with their busy lives and all), was that Michael was getting quite old and frail. More than anything, he just wanted to make sure his girls were happy and taken care of, and Maxwell seemed like a nice enough guy.

Unfortunately, Michael never got to know for sure. He died before seeing any of his children married. His sister Elena was absolutely devastated over the loss, even more so than his wife, Brie. Elena had him buried in the Rose family section of the local cemetery, next to his parents and grandparents.

Chapter 20 – A Bird Finally Leaves the Nest

It wasn’t long after the twins became official teenagers, that Julian started to rise in the scientific community. It also meant that Michael and Brie were getting older, grayer, and closer to retirement. Elena, although a few years younger than Michael, wasn’t too far behind retirement age herself.

Although Julian had never exactly been close with his parents (he had much preferred the company of his grandfather, Dorian), he did love them deeply. But he also felt compelled to strike out on his own. After a long talk with his father, Julian made up his mind to move out of the Rose family house. He promised to keep in touch, and not go too far, which seemed to put Michael’s mind at ease.

One of the Rose children had finally left the nest – after four generations. But Michael and Brie didn’t have much time to focus on one of their children moving out, because the twins were more than a handful. Aili, who had grown up to be a rather striking young woman, was breaking the hearts of neighborhood boys left and right. And her sister Jade had not yet found a color of hair dye she didn’t want to try. Michael was also pretty sure was doing something illegal on her computer late at night.

Jade and Aili couldn’t have been more different, and that became increasingly apparent the older they got. But different as they were, they were still Michael and Brie’s children, and they would be carrying on the Rose family in their eventual absence. With this in mind, Michael decided to make a dramatic change to his financial portfolio. He bought the local theater! Although his grandmother, Lena, had long ago made an investment in it, Michael felt it was finally time to buy it outright, and so he did. He renamed it the The Rose Family Community Theater – a lasting legacy for the Rose family.

Chapter Nineteen – Living Like Rock Stars

Although the Rose family had been pretty darn famous for four generations now, they had never lived like they were. Lena Rose, Michael’s grandmother, had always lived rather simply, and the rest of the family had followed suit. Their money was put into an investment in the local theater, and into the bank. True, the house that sat on the Rose family property had grown, but it was still dwarfed by the mansions that surrounded it.

No more!

Michael and his sister Elena got to see their dream house come to fruition, although it took many years. By the time the family got to move into it, Julian was a full grown adult, and the twin girls were in elementary school.

The girls loved having their own bedrooms, and just loved the house in general. Everyone seemed pleased except Julian, who spent most of his free time locked away in his room playing chess alone.

Despite Julian’s attitude, the family was doing well and was generally happy. Michael continued to work hard, and quickly became a hit movie composer. His sister, Elena, was all the town could talk about when it came to sports. Michael’s wife, Brie, was still painting up a storm. And their twin girls quickly seemed to turn into twin ladies.

Chapter Eighteen – New Life in the Rose House

Not long after Dorian Rose’s passing, Brie learned she was pregnant again – this time with twins! The news of of Brie’s pregnancy helped lift everyone’s mood. Even Julian, who spent a lot of time sulking in his room playing chess on the computer, seemed almost happy at the thought of being a big brother.

The pregnancy seemed to fly by for the Rose family, but then again, they had all kept busy. Brie had been painting every day, and now had some hanging in the local art museum. Michael had been inducted into the orchestra, and Elena had become a local sports superstar. It wasn’t long before it was time for Brie to give birth. Michael and Brie named their twins (both girls!) Jade and Aili.

Raising the twins proved to be a challenge for the young couple. Michael worked late hours with the orchestra, and the girls were often asleep by the time he got home at night. Elena was not able to provide as much help as she wanted, since she was officially a big star and playing in sporting events all the time. Julian was in school all day, which left Brie alone to care for them.

Feeling bad about the entire situation, Elena decided to hire a babysitter to help Brie manage. She also started working with her brother on a plan to build a new, larger house for the growing brood. The two were both making fairly large salaries, and they still owned a portion of the downtown theater (which had been held in the family for generations). After careful financial planning, Michael and Elena decided upon blueprints for their own family mansion, and hired the necessary contractors.
