About
Hello! My name is “dreadpiraterose” and I am a Sims-a-holic. I started playing The Sims back when it first came out, and have been an avid fan ever since. I owned all the expansions for The Sims, and was even a beta tester for The Sims Online. I also played The Sims 2, and am now a happy owner of The Sims 3.
A lot of us Sims 3 players have been inspired by a posting on the official Sims 3 message boards, about creating a “Legacy Sim”. In short, it is a challenge to see your family perpetuate itself through 10 generations. There are all kinds of rules and restrictions, which I’ll let you go read for yourself.
An few editorial notes:
- I like telling stories and role-playing, so you won’t find a simple list of what my sims did for the day. I will be creating third person narative around what happens. Some screen shots may appear out of order in order to better convey elements of the story.
- That being said, I absolutely follow the rules and do not cheat. Even if I say the character was living in a friend’s basement for the sake of the story, she really was on a virtually empty lot living like “a hobo” as intended by the rules. Whenever situations like this come up, I will make an editorial note to be clear.
- I am not playing by the matriarchy or patriarchy optional rules.
- I am using the “family trait” optional rule (all traits for offspring are randomized, except one trait that every family member will have, which is the Virtuoso trait).
- I am not keeping track of points. I tried, and just didn’t see much of a need or an enhancement of game play by doing so.
That’s all for now! Let’s see how this goes!
